Summer is coming – Can you believe it?? With some of the hottest designers showing off their latest Spring/Summer collections, we thought now was the best time to put together that ultimate shopping list.
Here are the 5 hottest trends must have summer outfits from the catwalk, for Summer.
After the dark and moody colors of Autumn/Winter we’re happy to see that light, pastel colors are the order of the day for S/S 2014. Isabel Marant has pastel pink hues running throughout her Summer collection, whilst Jason Wu opted for some pretty mint greens. Almost any pastel color you can think of was seen on catwalks this year, so you can pick the shade that flatters you most.
Isabel Marant uses pastel pinks for her Summer collection; perfect to show off that sunny glow. If pink isn’t your thing then opt for powder blue or lilac.
There were several shining stars on the catwalk this year, all trying to catch as many eyes as possible. There were designers with metallic flavor and others who went for the glittery disco ball. The one trend everyone was impressed by, however, was the iridescence and mirror shine. Lanvin had plenty of iridescent fashion on display for their Summer 2014 collection, along with Gucci and Fendi.
Lanvin had some stunning iridescent pieces on the catwalk. This look is perfect for an evening out! If you don’t want to go the whole way, opt for a metallic sheen bag instead.
All of the couture designers seemed to be thinking along the same lines with their Spring/Summer 2014 collection; wearing artwork. This year expect to show off your creative side with clothes that have been painted on, spray painted or even feature a full piece of art! Celine, Prada and Chanel were amongst the many designers following this Summer trend.
Chanel have come up with something really cool here – it looks as though the pattern has been painted on! Keep an eye out for similar t-shirts and dresses in your favorite stores.
Tea Length Skirts
Last year we saw midi skirts all over the catwalk, the year before it was maxi skirts. This year the Summer trend is in between the both – and it’s called the tea length skirt. Paired with a crop-top this length skirt can look modern and stylish. Alternatively, a tea length dress is as feminine as it gets. We saw this trend from designers such as Christian Siriano and Proenza Schouler.
Proenza Schouler used the metallic theme within their tea length skirt to combine two hot trends for Summer. A cropped jumper can dress this look down, for when the sun isn’t shining.
Christian Dior and Alexander Wang both showed off a key trend for their Spring/Summer collections; mesh. T-shirts, jumpers, crop tops and vest tops were all presented on the catwalk, using mesh and fishnet material. You don’t have to have everything on show to make a sexy statement this Summer!
